Tennamast cradles are being used world-wide, and have been employed to transport craft globally.

The first modular Craft-T-Cradle was developed in 1990 with the design and concept being nominated for, and winning the prestigious Silk Cut Nautical award

Since the introduction of the Craft-T-Cradle further improvements and innovations have led to the Craft-E-Cradle and the Super-A-Cradle being developed. These additional products suit alternative craft and budgets.


General Specifications

The Keystone of the Tennamast Cradles is the modular support which can be used in any position.

All Tennamast Cradles satisfy the British Marine Industries Federation lay-up guidelines.

The complete assembly is Hot Dip Galvanised to BS 729

The Tennamast Cradle System is an extremely effective and versatile concept which has very few limitations in use.

The whole cradle assembly is extremely compact allowing easy transportation to any site without the requirement of specialised haulage.

The Tennamast concept is easily assembled by one person with the use of just one spanner.

The cradle system has the advantage of a high re-sale value.

Craft-T-Cradle

Left above is the Craft-T-Cradle with 9 supports and the centre picture shows the same Craft-T-Cradle but with the legs retracted and on the right with additional diagonal bracing.


The one system yacht cradle suitable for all yachts and power craft which has revolutionised on-land storage of pleasure craft.

There are only 3 basic parts to the cradle which can be inter-connected to make a support which suits all sizes of boat without limitation.

Fine angular adjustment of the support leg is possible.

The various parts of the Craft-T-Cradle are fabricated from 70x70x3.6mm square steel section, the joining tubes are 60x60x4mm square steel section.

Heavy adjusting screw jacks of 48.1mm diameter carry large hull pads.

The whole assembly is hot dip galvanised to BS729.

Craft-E-Cradle

The Craft-E-Cradle has been designed specifically for the small boat owner and is essentially an economic version of the Craft-T-Cradle.

It can be used and deployed in exactly the same manner as the Craft-T-Cradle.

The vertically placed leg has two angular positions, the inner section can extend to give the correct height, and there is a universal joint at the top of the inner to correctly position the pad to the hull.

The support units are fabricated from 60x60x3 mm square section steel and the joining tubes and extending legs are 50x50x3 mm square steel section. The hull pads are 200 mm square.

The Craft-E-Cradle is supplied complete with the requisite number of support units, joining Ts, keel retainers, and joining tubes (ground tubes).

The whole assembly is hot dip galvanised to BS729.

Super-A-Cradle

The Super-A-Cradle in 5 support form, correctly fitted below the yacht.

Similar in application to the Craft-T-Cradle and Craft-E-Cradle, the Super-A-Cradle uses some parts which are common to the Craft-T-Cradle and achieves higher triangulation by using a modified approach and longer struts

Infinite angular adjustment of the support legs is possible.

The support units are fabricated from 70x70x3.6 mm square steel section and the angle struts are made from 40x8 mm flat steel. Large, heavy screw jacks carry the adequately sized hull pads.

The joining tubes and extending legs are 60.3 round steel.

The whole assembly is hot dip galvanised to BS729.


Fixed Cradles

Shown above is a Tennamast Fixed Cradle in Ardrossan Marina. The Marina has around 40 of these for safe lay-up.

Of conventional design, the base is constructed from steel channel section and the support legs from 70 x 70 x 3.6mm square steel section with the extending legs made from 60.3 tube.

Normally supplied in bare steel, various finishes supplied at additional cost.

The standard heavyweight screw jacks carry large hull pads.

Alternative sizes can be supplied to suit various craft.
